Economic Mobility for Women in Skilled Trades

Women 2 Women grants $20k to She Built This City to support a cohort of 27 women to complete a workforce training program, complete with meals and childcare services. The programming provides weekly themed lessons in plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting trades, tools, safety, soft skills, hands-on workshops, construction math, and industry-recognized certifications OSHA 10 & CPR/First Aid. Cohorts engage in construction site visits & community build projects. Graduates earn a Department of Labor Pre- Apprenticeship certificate from NC Apprenticeship & NC Community College Systems.
