Creating a Community Funded Telehealth Scholarship Program to Cover the Medical Visit Costs for Uninsured Elementary Students in Guilford County


Women 2 Women grants $25k to Cone Health to create a scholarship fund to pay for virtual medical visits for 200 uninsured elementary students, especially from immigrant families. Telehealth medical care is now available in 26 schools and connects students to doctors using digital tools operated by specially trained full time telepresenters in each school. This project removes the cost barrier, ensuring timely care without burdening families or requiring working mothers to miss work.
